Anne-Marie Broughton is a fantasy artist who lives and works in Adelaide, South Australia. She grew up in the seaside town of Port Lincoln and started drawing from a young age. Her first "commission" was in Junior Primary School where she was asked to draw a picture of one of the teachers for a farewell card, which was presented at a school assembly! She went on to win several childrens colouring-in competitions and a competition to design a new logo for the Port Lincoln High School student radio station, for which the prize was a rather warm can of coke and a dance music CD...
Most recently Anne-Marie has sold her original artwork and prints at the Medieval Festival and at the Whitmore Square artists fair in Adelaide. Her work has also been on display in two group fantasy exhibitions at Avalon Gallery on Hindley Street and at the "Fairy's Wishing Wand" shop on Unley Road.
She is inspired by other artists such as Michael Whelan and Ted Nasmith, and by the incredibly detailed fantasy worlds of authors such as Alan Dean Foster, Tad Williams, David Gemmel, and Guy Gavriel Kay.
